If we were somewhere in Europe, buses would be starting up. Its playoffs time and fans need to get from one end of the Old Continent to the other to support their team. As Euroleague gets closer to the end of its championship, fans have a single chance to see their team because they only play once.

Here are a few international players that don't have that same fear entering the NBA playoffs. In the United States, most international players agree that the game is played at a higher level, with fans to match. All of them have been in the league for a while, yet still found a way to transform their game this season.

Pau Gasol, Los Angeles Lakers

Since his trade from Memphis mid-season, Spanish big man finally found both a new place in Los Angeles and his place in the triangle. Sure, it helps that he is a seven-footer that moves well, but more than distributing the ball, he is also hitting his mid-range jumper. He has the exact same point average as he did with the Grizzlies, but Gasol improved his field goal percentage to a new career high (0.586). With a close bond forming with both Sasha Vujacic and Kobe Bryant, and with a lock on the first place in the west, Gasol is ready for the longest post-season run of his NBA career.

Rasho Nesterovic, Toronto Raptors

Slovenian influence is not limited to just him, there is also Primoz Brezec who after Charlotte and Detroit found his way north to be the only other player (in addition to Rasho) on this international-heavy squad to have more than 4 years of NBA experience. Through 16 straight games with points in double figures, Nesterovic had given coach Sam Mitchell reason to think of him ahead of the No.1 2006 NBA pick Andrea Bargnani. Nesterovic even hit his first regular season three-pointer some two weeks ago against Atlanta. Perhaps Rasho is inspired by the thought of his little newborn Nikola watching him play from the sidelines.

An injury that can take up to six weeks to recover will take one third that time for the Wunderkid. The reigning MVP has this season dished assists at a career-high level, making his performance against Golden State double and triple-teams in last year's first round seem unlikely to repeat. Warriors might not even make it into the playoffs, but the Mavericks will be there, thanks mostly to Germany's No.41. As Charles Barkley recently said, "The one team that I think puts fear in the bottom of your heart is the Dallas Mavericks."

But the more game he plays, the better he gets, and with the best three-point shooting of his career, it is no surprise that in the second half of the season Stojakovic had missed hitting double figures in only three games. The Hornets were the first western conference team in the playoffs this season, and -- thanks to Peja -- might be the last ones out.

The Turkish forward leads the Orlando Magic in 4th quarter points with more than six, and has increased his points, assists, and rebounds by 50% compared to just last year, an impressive accomplishment for any player that spent more than 2 years in the league. In his 8th year in the league, Turkoglu is channeling what Divac taught him when he joined the Kings, never to shy away from having to take the lead on his team. After a quick playoff exit last year, look for Turkoglu to make a considerably bigger impression this year.
